Quilted Bag

Having learned the technique of foundation paper piecing, I’ve had a go at using the same method but instead of paper I used wadding/batting.

Here’s the result:

Quilted bagI used lots of scraps and some pieces from charm packs to create a tote for lugging all my sewing stuff around to the various groups I belong to.

Quilted bag hangingIt holds a massive amount of stuff and is very comfortable to carry. I will make another version soon and remember to take some photographs so I can add instructions next time.


Handy Clutch Bag for Sewing Class


Our beginner’s sewing classes are going really well and we have been asked to put another on that will teach the next steps in sewing.  We’ve been thinking about what to do and decided on a clutch bag with lining and a zip.  I had some fabric left over from the Hillary’s Blinds Competition that I blogged about a few weeks ago so have used that to create the bag that we’ll be teaching on July 7th at Burnham library.

Sewing Organiser


Up until now all my sewing and quilting paraphernalia has been carried about in a flip top cardboard box.  Last week, the lid that I had already taped back on once, fell off again.  Drastic action was needed.  So I made a 3 fold, fabric organiser that holds everything, closes with a velcro fastening and works a treat.
